The 2026 Derby Offroad Show brought together Minnesota’s off-road community for a fantastic day of vehicles, friendly competition, family activities, and a shared passion for adventure. Beyond Borders Overland was proud to have a booth at the event and connect with fellow enthusiasts while celebrating everything that makes the off-road community special.
From Jeeps and trucks to trail rigs, overlanders, buggies, and custom builds, there was something for everyone to admire. The show highlighted the creativity, craftsmanship, and capability that go into building rigs for everything from challenging trails to extended overlanding adventures.
Activities, Competition, and Family Fun
The event offered plenty of entertainment for attendees of all ages. The RC crawler course gave kids and adults the opportunity to test their driving skills and navigate miniature off-road obstacles. The articulation event put full-size rigs to the test, demonstrating suspension travel and vehicle capability.
The Best Rig and Best Overland Rig competitions showcased some impressive builds and the dedication owners put into their vehicles. Attendees could also explore off-road vendors, visit local clubs, enjoy food trucks, and connect with others who share their enthusiasm for getting outdoors.
Additional attractions included goodie bags for the first 200 registered rig entries and Free to Take raffle tables, along with vehicle awards and raffle prizes that added to the excitement throughout the day.
Supporting Minnesota's Trails
Beyond the vehicles and activities, the Derby Offroad Show supported an important cause. All raffle proceeds and event support went to the Minnesota Four Wheel Drive Association (MN4WDA), helping fund the organization's trail advocacy and legislative efforts.
MN4WDA plays an important role in representing Minnesota's four-wheel-drive community, protecting responsible off-highway vehicle access, and working with lawmakers and land managers to preserve riding opportunities. Events like Derby demonstrate how the off-road community can come together to support the future of our sport.
Honoring John Campbell
The event also honored the late John Campbell, recognizing his memory and his place in the off-road community. Taking time to remember those who have made a difference reminds us that off-roading is about much more than vehicles and trails. It is about the friendships, shared experiences, and people who bring the community together.
Beyond Borders Overland: Adventure Starts with Community
For Beyond Borders Overland, having a booth at the 2026 Derby Offroad Show was a great opportunity to meet fellow adventurers, introduce people to our club, and share our passion for exploring the outdoors.
Our club believes that the future of overlanding depends on building a strong community, educating responsible adventurers, maintaining access to trails, and supporting organizations that advocate for our interests.
We want to thank the event organizers, volunteers, vendors, participating clubs, vehicle owners, and everyone who attended and helped make this year's show a success. We also appreciate everyone who contributed to the MN4WDA raffle and helped support the future of off-roading in Minnesota.
The 2026 Derby Offroad Show was a great reminder of what makes this community so special: incredible rigs, good people, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to keeping the spirit of adventure alive.
